Currently reading: Meditations for Mortals by Oliver Burkeman πSlowly working my way through this book. Iβve reached the start of the fourth week of meditations. I allowed myself to be diverted to read Time Surfing that was mentioned in the meditation for day eleven. Iβm enjoying it. Recommended.
Finished reading: Time Surfing by Paul Loomans πwhich I got after it was mentioned in Meditations for Mortals by Oliver Burkeman. An interesting read which provides a template for daily life. I found it more or less reflected much that Iβve grown to believe over the past 50 years or so. Definitely one that I recommend, especially the part on how to deal with interruptions or βdrop insβ as Loomans calls them.
Currently reading: Writers and Their Notebooks by Diana M. Raab πI’m drawn to yet another book about the use of notebooks. This is a collection of essays by writers on their use of notebooks.
Currently reading: Meditations for Mortals by Oliver Burkeman πJust arrived and Iβm reading the prologue. Question Iβm asking myself is: do I read it over a couple of days, or do as is suggested and take four weeks? Iβll find out tomorrow when I start reading chapter 1 and maybe chapter two, etc.
Finished reading: This Time Next Year We’ll Be Laughing by Jacqueline Winspear πIf youβve read her Maisie Dobbs books, youβll see where some of the stories came from. An enjoyable and at times emotional read.
Finished reading: Principles for Newsletters by Cj Chilvers πA short and interesting read. Lots to ponder. Iβll no doubt be returning to it for more ideas.
Currently reading: Principles for Newsletters by Cj Chilvers πgot this this morning and I’m more than half-way through. Easy read and one that anyone writing or thinking of writing one might find a useful idea in. π
Currently reading: The Siege by Ben Macintyre πin Audible.
Currently reading: Compost by Charles Dowding πA short book on how to make good compost. It draws together the information on composting that Charles Dowding has learnt over the past 40 years or so. It’s an important part of the No Dig gardening method. Definitely recommended if you want to make better compost.
Currently reading: The Ancient Guide to Modern Life by Natalie Haynes π Started this after listening to the author’s series on BBC Radio 4 called Natalie Haynes Stands up for the Classics. She’s a classicist and a stand-up comedienne. The book is a fairly easy read. YMMV π
Finished reading: The Notebook by Roland Allen π. A good read for anyone who loves using a paper notebook. I found it engrossing. Lots of information about when paper notebooks came available. Recommended.
Currently reading: Thinking on Paper by V.a. Howard πas a follow on from The Notebook.
Currently reading: The Notebook by Roland Allen π. I couldn’t resist this. The reviews are good, and although I am still in the introduction, I think this will be a good read. Either that or it will join the other books in currently reading.
